Kia Ora, nau mai piki mai haere mai,

Wai Not is a water-based Maori tourism operator (wai means water in Te Reo Maori) in one of New Zealand’s most magical destinations: the Bay of Islands. From the secret scenic riches of Cape Brett Peninsula and the majestic Russell State Forest, to the Waitangi historic landmark and rural community of Rawhiti, we offer visitors an authentic and diverse experience of the wairua of Ipipiri – the spirit of the Bay of Islands.

Our guides are the local people of Aotearoa, the tangata whenua, whose ancestral roots date back to before Europeans set foot on our shores, and who share their wisdom in a way that’s real, down to earth, informative and presented with true Maori wit! Also instrumental to Wai Not is our inherent respect for nature, our connection to our whakapapa (heritage) and our belief in tino rangatirantanga – the self-determination to take control of our own destiny and that of our children’s children.

The world’s your oyster at Wai Not – regardless of whether you’re a nature buff, adrenaline junkie or culturally inclined, we have something to wet the appetite of visitors from all walks of life, continents and across all ages. Whether it’s a waka (vessel) cruise, nature walk, jetski fishing charter, educational marae course or a combination of the above that floats your boat, we can custom-make an exclusive experience to suit your needs.

Mauri ora!
The Wai Not Team
